Creating an account is quick and easy:

1. Click "Sign Up" in the top right corner
2. Choose to sign up with Google (instant) or email
3. If using email, verify your address with the code we send
4. Start adding items immediately!

There are two ways to add items:

1. Smart Add (Recommended):

• Click "New Item" button
• Type naturally: "keys in kitchen drawer"
• Our AI automatically extracts the item name and location
• Click "Add with AI" - done!

2. Manual Entry:

• Fill in Item Name and Location fields separately
• Add optional tags and description
• Choose a category or let AI suggest one

Yes! MyPinSpot works on all devices:

• Web Browser: Visit mypinspot.com on any device
• Install as App (PWA): Click the install prompt or browser menu → "Install App"
• Offline Access: Once installed, works even without internet

Your items sync automatically across all your devices!

Our AI automatically categorizes your items using GPT-4:

• Analyzes item name and location
• Suggests the most relevant category (Keys, Electronics, Clothing, etc.)
• Generates smart search tags automatically
• Learns from context (e.g., "iPhone charger" → Electronics)

You can always override AI suggestions with your own categories!

How to add tags:

• Type a word and press Space or Enter
• Tags appear as pills
• Click × to remove
• AI adds smart tags automatically

Best practices for tags:

• Color: "red", "blue", "black"
• Material: "leather", "plastic", "metal"
• Brand: "apple", "samsung", "nike"
• Importance: "important", "urgent", "spare"
• Room: "kitchen", "bedroom", "garage"

Our smart search understands natural language:

Search methods:

• By name: Search "wallet" finds all wallets
• By location: Search "bedroom" finds everything there
• By category: Use dropdown filter for Electronics, Keys, etc.
• By tags: Search "red" finds all red items
• Fuzzy search: Typos work! "walett" still finds "wallet"

1. Go to "Categories" in the navigation
2. Click "Create Category"
3. Enter your category name (e.g., "Seasonal", "Garage", "Important Documents")
4. Optionally share with family members

Your custom categories appear in the filter dropdown immediately!

Yes! Cancel anytime with one click:

1. Go to Settings → Subscription
2. Click "Manage Subscription"
3. Click "Cancel Subscription"

After cancellation:

• Access continues until billing period ends
• Automatically downgrade to Free plan
• Keep your data (limited to 10 items)
• No questions asked, no fees

Your data is safe! Here's what happens:

• All items are preserved (read-only)
• You can view all items
• Can only edit/add up to your plan limit
• Delete items to free up space
• Re-upgrade anytime to unlock all items

We never delete your data!

Be specific with locations:

• ❌ Bad: "bedroom"
• ✅ Good: "bedroom nightstand drawer"
• ✅ Better: "bedroom nightstand top drawer left side"

Use consistent naming:

• Decide on "living room" vs "lounge" and stick with it
• Use full names: "iPhone charger" not "charger"

Add tags immediately:

• Color, brand, and "important" tags help future searches
• Example: "red wallet" with tags: leather, important, main

Quick actions:

• Search: Press / to focus search bar
• Add item: Click "New Item" from anywhere
• Category filter: Auto-submits on selection
• Clear filters: Click "Clear" button

Mobile shortcuts:

• Swipe left on item to delete (coming soon)
• Tap item card to quick edit
• Add to home screen for instant access

If you have a Family plan:

Setup tips:

1. Invite family members via Family page
2. Create shared categories (e.g., "Kids Toys", "Garage")
3. Check "Share with family" when adding important items

Best use cases:

• Shared items: "Keys", "TV Remote", "Garage Tools"
• Kids items: "School Backpack", "Soccer Cleats"
• Important docs: "Passports", "Birth Certificates"
• Seasonal: "Christmas Decorations", "Beach Gear"

Quick fixes:

1. Refresh the page (pull down on mobile)
2. Make sure you're logged into the same account
3. Check your internet connection
4. Clear browser cache and reload

Troubleshooting steps:

1. Clear all filters (click "Clear" button)
2. Try different search terms (item name, location, tags)
3. Check if category filter is active
4. Look for typos in your search
5. Check "All Categories" dropdown

Our fuzzy search usually catches typos, but try variations!

If you signed up with email:

1. Click "Forgot Password" on login page
2. Enter your email address
3. Check email for reset link
4. Click link and set new password

If you signed up with Google, just use "Continue with Google" - no password needed!

2. Scroll and tap "Add to Home Screen"
3. Tap "Add"

Android (Chrome):

1. Tap menu (three dots)
2. Tap "Install App" or "Add to Home Screen"
